I've always been a long time proponent of John Gabriel's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory, but it's good to see more people picking up on the idea. Most recently Joel Spolsky has mentioned it in this post about why comments are a bad idea on blogs. Yes, I'm going to note a certain amount of irony if any comments posted here descend into the mire :)
For anyone who is curious Godwin's Law states that:
As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.

Now this is a must on the conference trail: Waterfall 2006. It features talks such as "Very Large Projects: How to Go So Slow No One Knows You'll Never Deliver" and my favourite "Ruby On Snails: Slow Down Development With This New Framework".

The Register has an excellent article highlighting the dangers of pissing off your staff by outsourcing them, "Outsourced IT staff fingered porn stash banker". Let it be said that the business world doesn't have some karma sloshing around in it :)
